World Book Day!

On Friday 4th March, we joined in with World Book Day celebrations, taking part in loads of activities to celebrate our love of learning about books.

We participated in work on our favourite books, authors and illustrators; a scavenger hunt on different characters and topics; role-play activities; author-character-quote matching games and book token designing competitions. We must say a massive THANK YOU to Mrs Thomas and Year 6 for leading us with some of these fantastic activities and fun sessions!

However, it was a World a Book Day with a difference, as we enjoyed a visit from West Midlands Fire Service too! Interestingly, we listened to information about keeping safe at home and in the community, as well as how to perform some emergency actions.

Overall, some serious messages for year 4 to think about, all wrapped up nicely as part of a fun-filled day!

Check out some of the images below and feel free to comment about World Book Day or our Fire Service visit…

Back to Business!

Year 4 children and staff have returned from a (very!) well-earned half-term break and are raring to go! We’ll be continuing with our ‘How is Life a Cycle?’ topic work, as well as taking part in Forest Schools and loads of other amazing school work.

For our first blog post we thought we would celebrate some of the wonderful homework projects that Mrs Crosby and Mr Reynolds have been given recently. Great work Year 4, keep it up!

Meanwhile, Shakespeare, Tolkien…any unbelievable animal facts you would care to contribute? Leave a comment below!

Over to you, Year 4…
